Why was my credit card declined?

Scenario: When purchasing credits, you received a response that your credit card was declined. You double-checked that the CVV security code and expiration date are entered correctly.

Unfortunately, StriveScan receives very little information when a credit card is declined. Your bank or credit card company simply sends our system a response of "Failed: Card Declined."

To determine the reason why the card was declined, you must contact your bank or college's business office.

In our experience, the most common reason why a college or university's card is declined is because your business office has placed certain restrictions on the card. In some cases, StriveScan is categorized as "software" and some institutions limit which cards can make those kinds of purchases. Other reasons such as possible fraud detection, account balance, or incorrect card information may also cause a decline.
